Your Life Story Should be Told, and You’re the One to Write It!

with Delores Topliff

“Memoir” comes from the word memory or memories in French and Latin. It is creative non-fiction highlighting a specific period or events in the author’s life. It’s typically written in the first person and is usually more emotional and subjective than biography. Letters, diaries, journals, emails, even menus and grocery lists, etc. are all good building blocks for memoir writing.

In fact, written memoir results are easily adaptable to other writing genres like ghostwriting and biographies, inspirational writing, travel writing, cookbooks, style and fashion blogs, health and fitness books, and many other kinds of fun and popular spin-offs.

This workshop helps you identify tools you already have and suggests easy steps to begin compiling your memoir ingredients for large or small audiences. You’ll also learn to identify methods that work for you, whether you’re preserving and passing on your family’s heritage and legacy or recording helpful signposts from life lessons learned to benefit a considerably larger audience.
